The School's Hall is the biggest and most used performance space within the School. The hall has long since past its prime and is overdue a renovation to match the quality of music produced within it.
The work would include significant refurbishment and new acoustic treatment, an upgrade of our audio, recording and lighting equipment, and replacement seating to increase capacity and connect with a wider audience. Our staging platform needs restructuring and the guest facilities require relocating.
This work would have a positive impact on every student within the School, all of whom regularly use this space for rehearsals, training and lunchtime and evening concerts.
A dedicated rehearsal and teaching space is needed for our percussion musicians. Currently, the home for this department is not fit for purpose. A space has been identified on site and can be transformed to create a new Percussion Suite at a reasonable cost, making use of a currently unutilized area.
This move can be completed quickly and without the need for planning permission, once the essential funds have been raised.
